Anonymousover a year ago It is located next to a railway line, near high-rise/ multi-storey/ skyscraper council flats in the no-man's land (Coustenholm Rd) between Shawlands, Newlands and Pollokshaws. The clientèle is most likely the council estate folk from Pollokshaws, as it is nearest to bus stops, the train and taxis for Glasgow city centre. It used to attract old men, but they have moved on to the Wetherspoon's up on Kilmarnock Rd's arcade. It seems to have been purpose built in the 1960s or 1970s as an old-time tavern style pub, it is detached and -- unusually for the area, not developed from a shop, either from the arcade or from tenements. Still a bit of a man's pub.
